Totally get that Steven, It's crucial to recognize that everyone's path is different. At the beginning of my career to my final decade, although my goals are similar, the importance of people and spending time with the right ones at work and socially has become top priority for meGoals and definitions of success change over time. comparison to others is always going to make anyone feel less than. Remember your progress and journey is going to look alot different from others but that doesn't make your journey any less valuable or worthwhile. Here is a diffrent perspective on this..If you are going to compare anything in regards to your progress make sure you compare it to these categories Personal Goals and Achievements Allow me to explain further. Let's use an example from my experience in the finance industry with influence from different backgrounds. Personal Goal : Finance Stability regardless of status of income 🔷️ Write down all of your base expenses such as : mortgage/Rent , Property taxes , Water , Lights ,Gas for vehicle and Home if applicable, Car note , Car insurance, health insurance , home insurance, groceries for the household, and any bare minimum to upkeep your household. 🔷️Once you have all of that written down . write down your current income based on how often you get paid and dates you get paid. Yes this model is similar to living paycheck to paycheck but there is wisdom in this. 🔷️Now that you have all base expenses written down and how flow of income written down. Let's talk spending habits. 🔷️ Keep track of how much you spend on the daily and label each one by category. This is only to make you aware of what is going on and not to shame anyone. You will be surprised how much goes towards things that you do out of habit that will hurt you in the long run. Now let's talk about Achievements ! 🔷️Achievements can be any small or great goal met in this journey. 🔷️Create a reward system for yourself to celebrate. Goal here is to be wiser with money management. When you get accustomed to something that is easy to take for granted and when things fall apart so does your whole world and it's chaos .
