Paddle for Paws Charity Match: Play with the Pros

Attend a special afternoon and evening at the Paddle for Paws Charity Match: Play with the Pros, benefiting Wet Noses Rescue. The event will take place on June 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. at a private residence in Rancho Santa Fe. This event is an opportunity to have a great time while supporting a wonderful cause.

The event will include pickleball matches: Play alongside professional players, including Pablo Healing, Leah Tauber, and more. Concerts at the CoveThe City of Solana Beach and the Belly Up Tavern are presenting the summer “Concerts at the Cove” series this summer, which started June 13. Concerts at the Cove bring local musicians to the Fletcher Cove Park stage (111 S. Sierra Ave) in performances designed for audiences of all ages.

The concert series emphasizes family recreation and cultural experiences in a relaxed outdoor setting by the beach and provides an opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a variety of musical styles at sunset. Concerts will be held every Thursday night throughout the summer from through Aug. 8 (except Thursday, July 4), from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The next concert is June 27 and will feature Imagery Machine/Indie & Alternative.

Friends of the Carmel Valley Library present pianist Tae Yeon Lim

Pianist Tae Yeon Lim will perform at the Carmel Valley Library Tuesday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m.

Yeon Lim is known for her powerful performance style, combining energetic delivery with an intelligent touch. Originally from South Korea, Yeon Lim currently lives in Los Angeles where she is active as a pianist and conductor. Yeon Lim studied with the pioneering American pianist James Tocco at the Manhattan School of Music before earning a D.M.A. at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, where her mentor was the renowned piano pedagogue Stewart Gordon. Her program will include works by Bach, Handel, Bridge, Schumann and Debussy.

This 45-minute program is free and open to the public. Donations accepted and greatly appreciated. Programs brought to you by the Carmel Valley Friends of the Library are made possible by the generous financial contributions of the community.

Adult 55 and up E-bike safety class to be held in Encinitas

The City of Encinitas, in partnership with the Scripps Injury Prevention Network, offers an age 55-and-up specific e-bike/bike safety and skills class on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Encinitas Community & Senior Center, located at 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas. In this class, participants will revisit the rules of the road and practice essential bike riding skills with a certified bike instructor.

Topics covered include: where to ride, best practices, emergency maneuvers, legal rights and responsibilities. Additionally, the course will include discussion about fall prevention and offer tips to keep your body movements safe and your fit on the bicycle most comfortable, as well as other considerations specific for aging adults.

The three-hour class is broken up into three parts: lecture, skills drills, and a guided road ride to put your new skills into action. Class content applies to both regular and e-bikes. Some cycling experience is required as this is not a “learn-to-ride” class. Please come with your questions and experiences to share. The course is just $25 ($10 for Encinitas residents). Fun for entire family: Sandpipers Sock Hop Dance

All are invited to attend the Sandpipers Sock Hop Dance on Saturday, June 22, at St. James Parish Hall, 625 S. Nardo Ave, Solana Beach. A fun introduction for new dancers. Free for children 10 and up.Festivities start with free hot dogs and root beer floats at 5:15 p.m. A family-friendly community dance follows from 6-7 p.m. A caller teaches square dancing to cheerful music. Enjoy refreshments and fellowship with the Sandpipers Square Dance Club.

One Paseo’s Summer Moonlight Cinema

One Paseo in Carmel Valley will present its Summer Moonlight Cinema series, a chance to enjoy a movie under the stars with family and friends on the lawn area behind Harland Brewing. Summer Fun on the 101 – Leucadia’s Annual Music Festival

Leucadia’s annual music festival Summer Fun on the 101 takes place Saturday, June 22. The first band takes the stage at 11:30 a.m. This well-loved musical celebration takes place just a block from Beacon’s Beach in beautiful Leucadia Roadside Park (860 N. Coast Hwy 101). The event, which runs from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m., is presented by Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association.

Encinitas’ most epic music festival, Summer Fun is free and open to all. The event also includes hula hoop competition, kids art activities, a vibrant libations garden, amazing giveaways and so much fun for all ages- including a live performance by the Leucadia 101 Mainstreet Association’s Battle of the Bands youth winners, TrueBlood.

Sustainable Solutions Fair at the Farm Lab
